What are the charge requirements for plasma induction melting furnace?

1. The raw materials into the induction furnace shall be kept clean, dry and free of oil stain. The size of the block should be moderate, and the light and thin material should be pressed.

2. The limitation of phosphorus and sulfur, especially sulfur, is more relaxed than that of medium frequency induction furnace. Sulfur is allowed to be added according to the upper limit and phosphorus is allowed to be added according to the middle and upper limit. The recoveries of other alloy elements are higher than those of medium frequency induction furnace.

3. The usage of the returned material is about 50%, which is higher than that of the induction furnace.

The requirements for the lump size of the furnace charge are relatively loose, especially for ferrochrome, ferrotungsten, ferromolybdenum, etc., it is allowed to use larger lump size directly into the crucible for heating and melting, so as to avoid the restriction when adding liquid steel.
