How many operation methods are there for hot charging of vacuum induction furnace?

There are two operation methods for hot charging.

1. Direct injection of molten steel

The primary molten steel is directly transferred into a crucible which is baked to 700-800 degrees in advance by ladle, and then vacuum smelting is carried out in the furnace. The disadvantage of this method is that the molten steel is oxidized twice.

2. Vacuum injection method

Before injecting molten steel, vacuum the furnace to 20-300pa, and inject the molten steel in the ladle into the crucible in the furnace through the special injection pipe with sealing device. Then, the vacuum degree in the furnace is increased for smelting. Its advantage is to reduce the secondary oxidation of liquid steel.
