Sintering of induction furnace lining

After the lining of induction furnace is finished, the furnace can be dried and sintered. The purpose is to fully remove the moisture in the lining, and make the silica sand phase change evenly. Finally, the dense ceramic surface with high strength can be sintered at high temperature. The quality of oven drying will directly affect the service life of furnace lining, otherwise all previous achievements will be wasted, so the following matters must be paid attention to during oven drying and sintering:

The cooling water system, tilting system, control circuit and various marks shall be inspected in detail before drying.

2. A certain amount of charge must be added when drying, which is about 70% of the furnace height, so as to ensure the uniformity of temperature rise and fall.

3. Low power and slow heating should be adopted for oven drying, and cooling water should be supplied at the same time of power transmission. At the initial stage of oven drying, the heating rate is 100 & deg. / h, rising evenly until 800-900 & deg; C.

4. When the temperature of furnace lining is above 1000 DEG; C, 50% power supply should be used to make the crucible mold and furnace charge slowly rise and melt, so as to reduce the scouring effect.

5. Clean and rust free return materials should be selected to reduce slag. Large materials should be installed around the crucible wall, and small materials should be added at the center of furnace bottom.

6. The temperature of molten iron should be about 50 & deg; C higher than the working temperature for 1-2 hours, so that the furnace lining can be sintered evenly. The whole melting time of the first furnace is about 2-3 times of the normal melting time.

The first furnace should be filled with molten iron to make the furnace mouth sintered satisfactorily. There is a uniform and dense sintering layer from top to bottom in the whole crucible.

8 after melting the first furnace, the sintering layer of the crucible is still very thin, so the sintering process can be completed only after melting 2-3 furnaces continuously. If the sintering temperature is too low and the holding time is not enough, the lining will crack after cooling.

In general, the requirements of furnace lining drying and sintering are low temperature and slow baking, high temperature and full furnace sintering, the first furnace charge should be clean and free of rust and less impurities.
