How to adjust the fluidity of slag in medium frequency furnace

1) Adjustment method of fluidity of basic slag

To increase the fluidity of slag, fluorite, clay brick fragments or silica can be added. Lime and magnesia powder can be added to increase slag viscosity.

2) Adjustment method for fluidity of neutral slag

Fluorite and silica can be added to increase the fluidity of slag. The fluidity can also be increased by adding calcium silicate powder for deoxidation. To increase the viscosity, magnesia powder or lime can be added.

3) Adjustment method of acid slag fluidity

To increase the fluidity of slag, fluorite, lime and calcium carbide (suitable for smelting high carbon alloy steel) can be added. Silica can be added to increase slag viscosity.

The slag temperature has an obvious effect on its fluidity, but the influence of temperature change on liquid steel quality must be considered when adjusting slag fluidity by temperature condition.
