How many production methods do high nitrogen steel have?

The production methods of high nitrogen steel include four methods: the method of charge charging electroslag remelting, the smelting method of supercharged induction melting furnace, the smelting method of supercharged plasma furnace and powder metallurgy. The main production methods are the first two.

1. electroslag remelting in high pressure nitrogen atmosphere

The electroslag remelting was carried out in high pressure nitrogen by using the consumable electrode smelted in the primary furnace. The molten steel is increased by remelting process, and the high nitrogen content of electroslag ingot is obtained.

2. smelting high nitrogen steel by supercharged induction furnace

The ingot with high nitrogen content is produced by smelting in high pressure nitrogen and alloying. The pouring, solidification and cooling of steel are all completed in high pressure nitrogen.

3. smelting high nitrogen steel by pressurized plasma induction furnace

Nitrogen containing steel is smelted in a plasma arc furnace with nitrogen as working gas. The pouring, solidification and cooling of steel are all completed in high pressure nitrogen.

4. powder metallurgy

The high nitrogen steel billet is made by using nitrogen containing metal powder, which is prepared, pressed and sintered, and then the steel is produced by hot rolling.
